In the face of stiff competition, this major telecom company was challenged to find new revenue opportunities with its broadband customers. The Small Business market was fairly well penetrated with typical telecom services, and so new services were needed that could be “layered” on top of basic communications.
Solution
Ascend assessed the market potential for offering broadband-enabled credit card processing services, and identified not only an opportunity for increasing sales revenue, but also for engaging new market segments and enhancing retention of existing customers. Ascend was highly involved in building the business case, developing the new product’s positioning and value proposition, and planning the market launch. Ascend managed the product launch in call center as well as online channels with a highly engaging launch support program. It was a highly integrated program including advertising, sales training, support collateral, printing, and sales incentives.
Results
The new product was enthusiastically embraced by the sales reps, and customer participation exceeded expectations. As a result, our client was recognized at a major industry forum, receiving Telephony Magazine’s Innovation Award for that year.
